About For Fat People
An independent guide to stuff that fits bigger bodies — and nothing about shrinking them.
Most product reviews quietly assume a 180-pound reader. Office chairs “for everyone” top out at 250 lb. “One size” robes don’t close. Airline seatbelts end where a lot of us begin. We started ForFatPeople.com to do the homework the rest of the internet skips.
What we believe
- Fat is a description, not an insult. We use it plainly, the way the fat-acceptance community does.
- No lectures. You won’t find diet tips, before-and-afters or weight-loss upsells here. Our fitness and snack guides are about strength, comfort, joy and taste.
- Numbers over vibes. Weight capacity, seat width, cuff size, band length and size range lead every recommendation.
How we choose products
We research — we don’t run a testing lab, and we won’t pretend to. For every guide we compare manufacturer specifications, read the policies and fine print, look for reviews from people in bigger bodies (350, 400, 500 lb and up), and favor products with fair return policies. When we can’t confirm a spec, we say so. When something has a safety angle — car seatbelt extenders, airline extenders, medical devices, activity weight limits — we cite the source.
Specs and policies change. If you spot something out of date, tell us and we’ll fix it.
How we make money
We earn affiliate commissions when you buy through some of our links — mostly Amazon, plus a few travel and brand partners. That never decides what makes a list. Read the full disclosure.
